How to:

Add a transfer

If you’re looking to complete a transfer, whether it’s a cash, in-specie, or pension transfer, follow this quick and easy guide to help you through the process

Key things to remember

Transfer authority:

  • The transfer authority needs to be either wet signed by the client or can be digitally signed. If it’s digitally signed, we’ll require the audit trail. A list of our digital providers can be found on our document library.
  • The transfer authority form must be submitted via secure email, which can be located via the ‘Contact Us’ section on Adviser Zone and then ‘Secure Email’.

Cash pension and cash ISA transfers:

  • Cash pension transfers will be submitted electronically via Origo
  • Cash ISA transfers will be submitted electronically via Equisoft.

In-specie transfers

  • Depending on the scheme, in-specie transfers will be requested via Equisoft if possible, or manually if Equisoft can’t be used.

Re-registration:

  • Re-registration can’t be combined with any other investment types within the same application. When applying for both Cash investments and Re-registration for the same wrapper, you’ll need to complete a separate top-up application.

The submission process

Transfers can either be requested when adding a new wrapper, by selecting “Add New wrapper”, or by topping up an existing wrapper by selecting “Top Up”.

1. Choose a wrapper nickname

The wrapper nickname is optional but useful for telling multiples of the same product wrappers apart.

2. Choose investment type:

  • For cash transfers, select ‘Transfer’
  • For in-specie transfers, select ‘Re-Registration’
  • For pension transfers, select transfer type: Standard, Block or Pension Sharing Credit
  • Enter the ceding provider’s name and their address will prepopulate
  • Enter the client’s account number
  • Enter a transfer value. If it’s a full transfer tick the relevant box
  • Enter an Adviser initial charge, if applicable
  • For Re-registrations, you’ll have the option to transfer all assets, or you can choose specific assets only. You also have the option of opening a stockbroking account if the client holds equities

3. Select ongoing charges

Choose from:

  • None
  • Amount
  • Percentage

4. Add assets

Choose from:

  • Cash
  • Model Portfolio
  • Asset
